ABOUT DANIEL

Daniel J. Levitin is a neuroscientist, cognitive psychologist, musician, and bestselling author. He is Founding Dean of Arts & Humanities at Minerva University in San Francisco, and James McGill Professor Emeritus of Psychology and Neuroscience at McGill University in Montreal. He is the author of five consecutive bestselling books: This Is Your Brain on Music, The World in Six Songs, The Organized Mind, A Field Guide to Lies and Successful Aging (published in the UK as The Changing Mind).

His newest book, I Heard There Was A Secret Chord: Music As Medicine (published in the UK as Music as Medicine), hit the bestseller lists in its first week of release.
